Stressed threshold

This is one of my favorit workouts. After a good warmup I do10-12 intervalls for 3 minutes with 1 minutes rest. Intervall @105-110% of FTP. Rest @ 100 watt.

Hi @RobbanJ, thanks for your workout! So just to confirm, would this look like:

3 min @105-110% FTP
1 min @ 100 watts
3 min @105-110% FTP
1 min @ 100 watts
and so on for a total of 10-12 of those intervals?

To help build some of the background for the workout, could you expand on what you like to use this for? And when in your season would you incorporate this type of session?

Thanks for the addition!

I ride the intervals after leaving the Base period. The goal is to be a bit above the threshold intensity, but still not up against my aerobic effect. The range can be roughly described as 103-110% FTP.

The theory is that you do not need to ride on> 120% FTP to get a good response even on VO2max, but riding between 103-110% FTP for 25-40 minutes of working time thus gives both a good effect on VO2max and on the threshold.
