Biopsychosocial. It’s a big word that means equally big things, especially as it relates to how coaches work with athletes.
It’s easy for coaches to spend most, if not all of their time, focused on workouts and training plans, but most athletes present bigger, more complex problems to be solved. By giving more attention to how psychological and social factors influence an athlete’s performance, coaches can build an athlete’s confidence, resilience, motivation, and enjoyment of their sport.
